Baseball Recap: Plainview Has No Trouble Against Geraldine

Plainview barely beat Geraldine the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Bulldogs on Friday. The Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

The team relied heavily on Trey Rutledge, who went 1-for-2 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Eli Sampson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Plainview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Plainview's record now sits at 9-12. As for Geraldine, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-14.

Plainview does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Geraldine, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Pisgah at 5:00 p.m.
