Preview: Mechanicsburg Indians vs. Cedarville Indians
Mechanicsburg is 1-9 against Cedarville since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Mechanicsburg Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Cedarville Indians at 7:30 p.m. Mechanicsburg is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Mechanicsburg came up short against Southeastern Local and fell 49-36.
Despite their defeat, Mechanicsburg saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lane Poland, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Keegan Freeze was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Even though they lost, Mechanicsburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. This was only their seventh loss (out of eight games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Cedarville has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell just short of Fairbanks by a score of 39-37. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cedarville has scored all season.
Mechanicsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Cedarville, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
Mechanicsburg was taken down by Cedarville 83-39 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Mechanicsburg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
