Baseball Recap: Melrose-Mindoro Mustangs vs. Alma Center Lincoln Hornets
There's no place like home for Melrose-Mindoro, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Alma Center Lincoln Hornets on Friday. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hornets, too.
Jacob Thesing spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Colton Koss was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Lane Fry also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
