Baseball Recap: Joppatowne Takes a Loss

Joppatowne fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Aberdeen on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Mariners in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Joppatowne saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Miller, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Mason Rose also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Joppatowne now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Aberdeen, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-8.

While Joppatowne had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
