Basketball Recap: Red Bird Takes a Loss

Red Bird was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls, falling 72-43. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their loss to the Owls / Lady Owls from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Red Bird's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Owsley County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-14 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Red Bird Cardinals challenge the Lynn Camp Wildcats at 6:30 a.m. on Monday. Red Bird is facing Lynn Camp at the right time seeing as Lynn Camp is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Owsley County, they will square off against Cordia at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
