Baseball Recap: Ridgewood Generals vs. West Muskingum Tornadoes

Ridgewood had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 5-7 to make it four. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Muskingum Tornadoes. The Generals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tornadoes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2019.

As for West Muskingum, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.

For West Muskingum's part, Sam Wiseman was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Conner Hill was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Ridgewood will head out to challenge Tuscarawas Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West Muskingum, they will challenge New Lexington at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.25 runs per game on average), something the Tornadoes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
