Softball Preview: Bartlett Panthers vs. Lakeland Preparatory Lions
The Bartlett Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Lakeland Preparatory Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bartlett is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, Bartlett suffered a rough 14-7 loss at the hands of Collierville.
Codie Rae Walter and Madelynn Thompson did some serious damage despite the final result: Walter went 2-for-3 with a stolen base and a double, while Thompson scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Bonds, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
Meanwhile, Lakeland Preparatory gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over Fayette Ware.
Reese Harrell was incredible, going 3-for-3 with a home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Lily Falcone, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
Bartlett's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Lakeland Preparatory, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0.
