Softball Recap: Bethel Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Scotland Christian Academy

Bethel Christian Academy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Scotland Christian Academy Saints as Bethel Christian Academy made off with a 17-1 victory. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 12 runs or more this season.

Suzanne Rouse made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over 4.2 innings pitched. Rouse was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three doubles, and three RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game.

In other batting news, Bailey Smith and Lillie Turner did most of the damage at the plate: Smith scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5, while Turner went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that Turner hit this season. Allison Turnage was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Bethel Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.4 runs over those games. Scotland Christian Academy's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 1-3-1.
