Football Game Preview: Glencoe Crimson Tide vs. Newberg Tigers + How To Watch

Glencoe hasn't had much luck against Newberg recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Crimson Tide will head out to face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Glencoe's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past Century to the tune of 44-0. That 44 point margin sets a new team best for the Crimson Tide this season.

Daniel Heninger produced another solid effort rushing for 298 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Heninger is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 213 every time he's taken the field this season.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Glencoe was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 401 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Glencoe didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tayvin Crowell and Collin Stortro.

Meanwhile, Newberg entered their tilt with Liberty on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 48-42 W against the Falcons.

A big part of Newberg's victory came down to the chemistry between Parker Sellner and his top target Ethan Hein. Sellner threw for 91 yards and three TDs while Hein gained 107 total yards. The dominant performance also gave Sellner a new career-high in rushing yards (87).

Glencoe's record is now 6-1. As for Newberg, their record now sits at 5-2.

Glencoe and Newberg were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in October of 2023, but Glencoe came up empty-handed after a 21-20 defeat. Can the Crimson Tide avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
