Volleyball Recap: Culver Community Cavaliers vs. Triton Trojans

With a playoff game on the line, Culver Community rose to the challenge on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Triton Trojans. The victory was nothing new for the Cavaliers as they're now sitting on 14 straight.

Culver Community took Triton into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 27-25, 24-26, 14-25, 18-16.

Despite the defeat, Triton had strong showings from Sierra Hawley, who had 21 digs, and Allie Westafer, who had 12 digs, a kill, and a block. Hawley is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season.

Culver Community is on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 21 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 27-5 record this season. As for Triton, their loss dropped their record down to 23-11.

Culver Community is on the road again on Saturday to play Marquette Catholic at 1:00 p.m. Marquette Catholic will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Culver Community surely won't give up without a fight. Triton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
