The Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders will head out on the road to challenge the Cary Imps at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cardinal Gibbons is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
If Cardinal Gibbons beats Cary with 15 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Everything went the Crusaders' way against Sanderson on Thursday as they made off with a 15-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won eight in a row.

At the plate, Cardinal Gibbons got a massive performance out of Andrew Riedel, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs Riedel has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jack Bolte, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Cardinal Gibbons hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Cary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Middle Creek.
Cary saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Skylan Joyner, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Cary's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Cardinal Gibbons, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cardinal Gibbons hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Cary struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cardinal Gibbons got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Cary by a conclusive 11-0 score. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Imps have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
