Softball Recap: Penns Grove Comes Up Short

Penns Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Pennsville Memorial Eagles, falling 19-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 26-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Penns Grove's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Pennsville Memorial, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2.

Coming up, Penns Grove will square off against Woodstown at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Pennsville Memorial, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 8-7 defeat against Haddon Heights on the 23rd.
