Football Recap: Salome Falls Short Against Ranked Bagdad + How To Watch

Salome faced Bagdad in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Frogs were outmatched by the Sultans and fell 56-18. The Frogs haven't had much luck with the Sultans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Hector Molina threw for 36 yards and one touchdown.

Thomas Rodriguez produced another solid performance rushing for 93 yards and three scores on only nine carries, while also throwing for 91 yards and one TD for Bagdad. Another pass catcher making a difference was Destry Owings, who picked up 147 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Salome's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Bagdad, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Salome will challenge Red Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Frogs will be up against the Scorpions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.83 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Bagdad, they will square off against St. David at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' defense has only allowed 7.9 points per game this season, so the Sultans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
