Basketball Recap: Fairview Extends Winning Streak to Five

Fairview won against Garrett Morgan last Friday with 72 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Fairview Warriors put the hurt on the Liberty Leopards with a sharp 72-46 win. The Warriors pushed the score to 59-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Leopards cut but never quite recovered from.

Liberty's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Bates, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramsey Hadi-Cox, who had ten points.

The victory (which was Fairview's fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points over those games. As for Liberty, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-18.

Looking ahead, Fairview will challenge Trinity at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Fairview's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups. Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
