Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for Midd-West

Midd-West barely beat Selinsgrove the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Seals with a sharp 13-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Mustangs have won five games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Cali Sauer was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jayda Dunn, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.

Midd-West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Selinsgrove only posted a batting average of .062.

Midd-West's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Selinsgrove, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.

Midd-West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Milton on the 9th. As for Selinsgrove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Mifflinburg on the 12th.
