Basketball Game Preview: Whitewright Tigers vs. Trinity Christian Academy Warriors

The Whitewright Tigers and the Trinity Christian Academy Warriors will round out the year against one another at at 12:45 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Whitewright will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Honey Grove, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. Whitewright came out on top against Honey Grove by a score of 46-38 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Trinity Christian Academy). They blew past Athens Christian Preparatory Academy 81-25 on Tuesday. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 30 points or more this season.

Trinity Christian Academy's win came from a few key players Whitewright will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Luke Nutt, who went 11 for 18 on his way to 28 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Rolen, who went 11 for 14 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds.

Trinity Christian Academy pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points per game. As for Whitewright, their win bumped their record up to 15-1.
