Basketball Game Preview: Highland Springs Springers vs. Matoaca Warriors

The Highland Springs Springers and the Matoaca Warriors will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Highland Springs knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Matoaca likes a good challenge.

Highland Springs is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Varina just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to the Blue Devils on the road by a 73-57 margin.

Meanwhile, Matoaca lost 70-49 to Dinwiddie on Friday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Highland Springs' loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Matoaca, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Everything came up roses for Highland Springs against Matoaca in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 120-12 win. Will Highland Springs repeat their success, or does Matoaca have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
