Baseball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Tallassee's 17th in Last 19 Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Tallassee walked away with it. They blew past the Bibb County Choctaws 8-1 on Thursday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

Jack Butler looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brue Milner was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Bry Hathcock, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Tallassee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Tallassee is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-10-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Bibb County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 26-10 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Choctaws beat Tallassee by a score of 3-1 later that day.
