Softball Preview: Hanover Hawks vs. Dinwiddie Generals        
        
		
            
 Hanover has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Dinwiddie Generals at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both teams come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Hanover is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Friday. They walked away with  a   5-1  victory over Caroline. Five seems to be a good number for Hanover as the  team scooped up a  win with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
  Lillian Parrish made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out 16 batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. Parrish has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts every time she's  pitched this season. Parrish was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Kaileigh Byars was  excellent,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.  Emma Slutzah was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Dinwiddie narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past Eastern View  5-4. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for Dinwiddie.
 Hanover's win was  their 12th straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 19-0. As for Dinwiddie, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won seven of their last nine matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record  this season.
 Hanover took their  victory against Dinwiddie  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2022 by a conclusive  17-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hanover since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
