Football Recap: Twin River Titans vs. McCool Junction Mustangs

After flying high against Giltner last Friday, Twin River came back down to earth. The Twin River Titans had to suffer through a 68-26 loss at the hands of the McCool Junction Mustangs.

When it comes to explaining why Twin River lost on Friday, don't look at Paydon Rinkol. Despite the final result, he rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns. Rinkol's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 147 rushing yards dating back to last season. Eli Slizoski got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Carson Mcdonald had an outrageously good game for McCool Junction as he rushed for 218 yards and five touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 195 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. With that strong performance, Mcdonald is now averaging an impressive 153 rushing yards per game. Another player making a difference was Bryson Plock, who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.

Twin River's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for McCool Junction, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Twin River will head out on the road to face off against Heartland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McCool Junction, they will square off against Freeman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
