Volleyball Recap: Ryan Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Evangeline Trahan and Abigail Vasquez + How To Watch

Ryan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Argyle Eagles, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-17, 25-9.

Abigail Vasquez and Evangeline Trahan certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Vasquez had 15 digs and one assist, while Trahan had seven kills and three digs. Trahan is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last 20 games she's played.

Ryan's loss dropped their record down to 15-17. As for Argyle, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Ryan will take on rival Denton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Argyle is set to square off against their familiar foe Birdville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
