Basketball Recap: Oakhill Christian Drops Season-High Score on Maranatha Baptist

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oakhill Christian). They came out on top against the Maranatha Baptist Crusaders by a score of 72-65 on Tuesday. The win was some much needed relief for the Royals as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Oakhill Christian was led to victory by Isaac Vogel and Elijah Harman. Vogel posted 42 points and seven rebounds, while Harman dropped a double-double with 13 points and 20 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Vogel has scored at least a third of Oakhill Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Nimmo, who had four points and seven rebounds.

Oakhill Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Oakhill Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-23. As for Maranatha Baptist, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakhill Christian will challenge Rockford FIRE HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oakhill Christian is facing Rockford FIRE HomeSchool at the right time seeing as Rockford FIRE HomeSchool is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Maranatha Baptist, they will face off against Rock County Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
