Baseball Recap: West Jessamine Extends Winning Streak to Three

West Jessamine entered their tilt with Corbin on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Redhounds by a score of 8-4. The Colts have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Redhounds, too.

Hayden Peters was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mavrick Napier, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

West Jessamine hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

West Jessamine's record is now 7-12-1. As for Corbin, they dropped their record down to 9-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Jessamine will welcome Frederick Douglass at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Colts' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Corbin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cooper at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Jaguars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.23 runs per game on average), something the Redhounds will no doubt try to take advantage of.
