Basketball Recap: North Yarmouth Academy Falls Short of Dirigo in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Yarmouth Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Dirigo Cougars by a score of 48-45 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-47 back in December of 2024.

Dirigo found their leader in sophomore Abigail Luczynski, who went 7 for 16 en route to 19 points. Aleiah Ward was another key player, putting up four points and eight boards.

North Yarmouth Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Dirigo, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.

North Yarmouth Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dirigo, they will square off against Carrabec at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
