Football Recap: Center Point Comes Up Short

Center Point lost against Brackett back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pirates took a blow against the Tigers, falling 41-3. Having soared to a lofty 46 points in the game before, the Pirates couldn't push the score so high this time.

Brackett had a senior duo take command as Abel Aguirre rushed for 168 yards and three scores while picking up 9.9 yards per carry and Troy Sandoval gained 109 total yards and three touchdowns. Aguirre's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 145 rushing yards.

Center Point has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Brackett, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Coming up, Center Point will be playing in front of their home fans against D'Hanis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will be up against the Cowboys' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Brackett does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
