Baseball Recap: Metcalfe County Comes Up Short

Metcalfe County had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 5-10 to make it five. They fell just short of the Adair County Indians by a score of 6-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 11-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Adair County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. That's two games straight that they have won by just one run.

For Adair County's part, the team relied heavily on Brayton Coomer, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Brody Brock, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Coming up, Metcalfe County will host Clinton County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Adair County, they will head out to square off against Hart County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
