Volleyball Recap: Scottsbluff Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Scottsbluff, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They won by a set and slipped past the Norfolk Panthers 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bearcats have posted since October 15, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Scottsbluff got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 21-25, 25-20.

Alainah Salas was nothing short of spectacular: she had 24 digs and three assists. That's the most assists she has posted over her last four contests. Mia Bowles was another key player, getting nine digs and one block.

Scottsbluff was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Norfolk only served four aces.

Despite the defeat, Norfolk had strong showings from Audrey Galyen, who had ten digs and two aces, and Georgia Kluver, who had 12 digs and two aces. Kluver has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Scottsbluff and bumps their season record up to 9-9. As for Norfolk, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Scottsbluff didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Gering on the 16th. As for Norfolk, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Lincoln North Star on the 16th.
