Basketball Recap: Luray's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

Luray suffered their biggest defeat since February 14, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the Central Woodstock Falcons, falling 59-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered against the Falcons since February 4, 2022.

Despite the loss, Luray still got an impressive performance from Jae Frye, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 12 points. Those 12 points gave Frye a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Blake Jenkins, who posted ten points.

Luray moved to 13-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Central Woodstock, their win bumped their record up to 16-3.

Luray and Central Woodstock should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Meanwhile, Central Woodstock will face off against Madison County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 224 places (91 vs. 315).
