Softball Recap: MOT Charter Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

MOT Charter came out on top against Hodgson Vo-Tech on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 7-1 win. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 7-2 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Brooke Morrison made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Morrison is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Natalie Flowers was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Yetsko, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with four stolen bases.

MOT Charter's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. As for Hodgson Vo-Tech, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-7.

Coming up, MOT Charter will take on McKean at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Hodgson Vo-Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
