Football Recap: Concord Skates Past Wawasee with Ease

Concord extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 7-1. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wawasee Warriors 49-21. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-6.

CHAR'RESE BREVEARD continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 169 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries. Those 169 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was BO BRUNNER, who threw for 164 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Concord was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 327 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 161 rushing yards in 14 consecutive games dating back to last season.

As for Wawasee, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Concord is ranked 47th).

Despite the loss, Wawasee still got an impressive performance from Kaden Andrew, who rushed for 63 yards on only seven carries, and also caught one score. Jaxon Brown got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Concord wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 45-14 victory against Plymouth on the 17th. As for Wawasee, they have also already played their next contest, a 36-14 loss against Mishawaka on the 17th.
