Lincoln County has gone a perfect 4-0 against Warren County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lincoln County Falcons are taking a road trip to face off against the Warren County Pioneers & Lady Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. Warren County took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lincoln County, who comes in off a win.
It was a Battle of the Birds when Lincoln County challenged Shelbyville Central on Tuesday. Lincoln County's pitchers stepped up to hand Shelbyville Central a 13-0 shutout. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Ava Harris and Brenna Edwards were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Harris tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Edwards tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Harris scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Edwards went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was Edwards' first of the season.
In other batting news, Hana Corder was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Brinley Moran was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Lincoln County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Warren County fell victim to Coffee County Central and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 8-0 to the Red Raiders. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Pioneers & Lady Pioneers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Warren County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Lincoln County, their record is now 5-3.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lincoln County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Warren County struggles in that department as they've averaged .343. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lincoln County took their win against Warren County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lincoln County since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
