Football Recap: West Oso's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

West Oso lost against Orange Grove back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bears fell 24-14 to the Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 951st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 426th).

When it comes to explaining why West Oso lost, don't look at Ryan Guerrero. Despite the final result, he rushed for 90 yards and one TD. Guerrero got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 84 yards.

Orange Grove found their leader in sophomore Daniel Bahn, who rushed for 142 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Bahn is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, West Oso fell to 4-1. As for Orange Grove, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, West Oso will take on Aransas Pass at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Orange Grove, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Palacios at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
