Baseball Game Preview: Summit Spartans vs. Ravenwood Raptors

For the second straight game, Summit will face off against Ravenwood. The Spartans will take on the Raptors at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Summit has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Summit had taken Ravenwood down for five straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Spartans fell just short of the Raptors by a score of 3-2.

Davin Roush spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Summit saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Southerland, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The win (which was Ravenwood's third in a row) raised their record to 13-3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Summit, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
