Baseball Game Preview: Gunnison Cowboys vs. Centauri Falcons

Gunnison is a perfect 4-0 against Centauri since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cowboys will host the Falcons at 3:00 p.m. Gunnison will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Gunnison fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Basalt last Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 15-14. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (ten), the Cowboys still had to take the loss.

Cedaredge hit Centauri with a five-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons fell 11-8 to the Bruins. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Erik Garcia led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Kamryn Garcia was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI.

Centauri's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Gunnison, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-7.

Gunnison took their victory against Centauri when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-4 score. Do the Cowboys have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
