Basketball Recap: Garden County Extends Winning Streak to Six

Garden County waltzed into their match on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They had just enough and edged out the Leyton Warriors 53-51. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly two points.

Garden County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Wilsie Lobner led the charge by going 7-for-15 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. Lobner continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Javis Underwood, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 14 boards.

Garden County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.

Garden County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points over those games. As for Leyton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

As of now, neither Garden County nor Leyton have any future games scheduled.
