St. Charles dropped their record down to 8-13 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 14-0 to the Hilliard Davidson Wildcats. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Hilliard Davidson, their win bumped their record up to 10-12. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Hilliard Davidson's part, Roman Himes made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Himes was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Johnny DiBlasio was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Mitchell Davis, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Charles will host Hayes at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hilliard Davidson, they will face off against Westerville North at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
