Faith Christian can't be too worried about heading out to take on Tri-State Christian: they just beat Morning Star Academy at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Faith Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ziah Schuler, who went 5 for 8 en route to 14 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Chloe Mennen, who posted eight points in addition to eight boards and four steals.
Faith Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Morning Star Academy only posted eight assists.
Meanwhile, Tri-State Christian's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 31-19 to Quad Cities Christian.
Faith Christian will need focus on slowing down Makayla Zelle, one of several Tri-State Christian players who made an impact when they last played. She had seven points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Zelle a new career-high in points. Catherine Benedict was another key player, putting up three points and three steals.
Faith Christian's victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points per game. As for Tri-State Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Faith Christian has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Tri-State Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Faith Christian against Tri-State Christian when the teams last played back in January, as the squad secured a 46-8 win. In that game, Faith Christian amassed a halftime lead of 28-4, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
