Football Recap: Sparkman Senators vs. Austin Black Bears
Sparkman extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 29-7 to the Austin Black Bears. The Senators lost against the Black Bears in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 31-30 score last time.
Keaton Williams threw for 151 yards and one TD. Kameron Reynolds was his top target, picking up 68 receiving yards. On the ground, Braylon Lawson rushed for 80 yards.
As for Austin, they now have a winning record of 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win they have posted against Sparkman since October 5, 2018.
Austin was led to victory by Qadir Lyle and Aidan Davis. Lyle threw for 219 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Davis rushed for 186 yards while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. The dominant performance also gave Lyle a new career-high in rushing yards (57). A healthy portion of Lyle's aerial production (86 yards to be exact) went to Alvin Jones.
