Basketball Recap: Georgetown Comes Up Short

Georgetown suffered their closest loss since November 15th on Friday. They fell just short of the Liberty Hill Panthers by a score of 37-34. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while the Panthers are ranked 137th).

Georgetown moved to 10-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Liberty Hill, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Georgetown Eagles face off against the Hendrickson Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Liberty Hill, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Glen Rose at 3:40 p.m. on Saturday.
