Football Recap: Northview Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Northview Academy lost against Elizabethton back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cougars were dealt a 34-7 loss at the hands of the Fighting Cyclones. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Fighting Cyclones are ranked 60th).

Despite the defeat, Northview Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Keaton Phipps rushed for 114 yards and one touchdown.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elizabethton to victory, but perhaps none more so than William McDuffie, who rushed for 123 yards and one TD on only 13 carries. Those 123 rushing yards gave McDuffie a new career-high. Rhett Slagle was another key signal caller, throwing for 117 yards and one touchdown.

Northview Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Elizabethton, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
