Basketball Recap: Thatcher Eagles vs. Pima Roughriders

Thatcher was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 50-26 to the Pima Roughriders. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 55-33 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pima to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cheyanne Alder, who posted 11 points and eight steals. The dominant performance gave Alder a new career-high in steals. Kelsi Brimhall was another key player, putting up 13 points and five rebounds.

Thatcher's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Pima, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Thatcher didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-27 defeat against Valley Christian on the 17th. As for Pima, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 62-32 victory against Leading Edge Academy - GEC on the 16th.
