Softball Recap: Weed Takes a Loss

Weed was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 9-5 to the Princeton Eagles. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Weed saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Dawson, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits Dawson has posted since back in April of 2024. Another was Angelina Brown, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Weed's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Princeton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1-1.

Weed has already played their next contest, a 5-4 win against Redding Christian on the 21st. As for Princeton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 18-5 loss against Portola on the 22nd.
