Soccer Recap: Lely Wins Going Away Against Cypress Lake

Lely's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Cypress Lake Panthers as the Lely Trojans made off with a 3-0 victory. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Aoife Bowe and Stassy Edouard scored all three of Lely's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 21 goals.

Lely is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matches. As for Cypress Lake, they dropped their record down to 8-10-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Lely and Cypress Lake are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Lely will take on Bonita Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lely is facing Bonita Springs at the right time seeing as Bonita Springs is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cypress Lake, they will square off against LaBelle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. LaBelle is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season.
