Volleyball Recap: Avon Orioles vs. Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos
After flying high against Plainfield on Saturday, Avon came back down to earth. The Orioles lost 3-0 to the Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos on Tuesday. The Orioles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bronchos apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Avon took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-14, 25-20.
James Butler paced Avon's offense, picking up three kills. Butler got some help from Cameron James and his three assists.
Among those leading the charge was Ancel Tello, who had four digs, three aces, and one block.
Avon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Lafayette Jefferson, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
Avon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Zionsville on the 10th. As for Lafayette Jefferson, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Andrean on the 12th.
