Basketball Recap: Globe's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Globe had lost four straight headed into Thursday's matchup, but Josiah Cutter didn't let it get to five. The Globe Tigers snuck past the Apache Junction Prospectors with a 49-43 victory on Thursday thanks in part to Cutter, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 22 points and eight boards. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for five straight games.

When it comes to explaining why Apache Junction lost, don't look at Omar Adam. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Roy Nelson, who had eight points and five boards.

Globe's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 14-10. As for Apache Junction, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

Globe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 86-69 defeat against Florence on the 27th. Apache Junction has also already played their next match, a 60-42 loss against Seton Catholic on the 27th.
