Softball Recap: Hueneme Takes a Loss

Hueneme was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 14-6 to the Santa Barbara Dons. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dons earlier this season, when they won 7-0.

Hueneme saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaucelynn Ayala, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another was Roxanna Silva, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Hueneme's record now sits at 6-14. As for Santa Barbara, their win bumped their record up to 6-18.

Coming up, Hueneme will square off against Fillmore at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Barbara, they will be playing at home against Pacifica at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tritons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.18 runs per game on average), something the Dons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
