Basketball Recap: Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton Skates Past Houston with Ease

On Monday, Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton were fully in charge, breezing past the Houston Hurricanes 67-39. Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

When it comes to explaining why Houston lost, don't look at Aubry Boldt. Despite the final result, she went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points and five rebounds. That was a full 38.5% of Houston's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

The win made it two in a row for Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Houston, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Southland the next time they take the court. Houston will head out to face Southland at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Spring Grove/Mabel-Canton will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
