Basketball Recap: Villa Madonna Comes Up Short

Villa Madonna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 58-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Boone County Rebels.

Despite the loss, Villa Madonna still got an impressive performance from Jay Meyers, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. Thanks to that strong game, Meyers now owns an excellent 45.3% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Day, who posted eight points.

Villa Madonna's loss dropped their record down to 4-24. As for Boone County, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-21.

Villa Madonna does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Boone County, they will square off against Heritage Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
