Jefferson had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Musselman Applemen an 8-0 shutout on Saturday. Considering the Cougars have won 11 matches by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Jefferson is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Musselman, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-16-1.

Coming up, Jefferson will look to defend their home field on Monday against Washington at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 2.5, the Patriots 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Musselman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
