Softball Recap: Gibbs Extends Winning Streak to 12

Gibbs had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.6 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over Seymour. Considering Gibbs has won 24 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Malyiah Smith was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Shelby Williams, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Gibbs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .703. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.

Gibbs' win was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 35-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Seymour, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Gibbs nor Seymour have any future games scheduled.
